Our Favorite Fishing Charter

Captain Mark Howard, a long time Anna Maria Islander and former owner of Sumotime Fishing Charters, ran fishing charters on the island for over 20 years. He retired in August 2018 and sold his business to Captain Sam major, his primary fishing mate. 

Captain Major is a 5th generation Tampa Bay local and knows the area well. He has a reputation for being an extremely knowledgeable, kind, and fun captain. He is also a family-friendly fishing guide that welcomes all people. 

You can choose from different charter options that include inshore/nearshore waters surrounding Anna Maria Island, Tampa Bay, and the Gulf of Mexico. Captain Major also tailors each experience to the specific skill level and desire of each angler. 

All equipment and bait are provided with each charter. He also does the cleaning/filleting as well so that you can bring home fresh fish for dinner! He even provides a list of what to bring along for the trip to make your experience the best that it can be.
