The Anna Maria General Store

One local choice is the Anna Maria General Store. The store, founded in the 1950s, moved to its current location in 2015. The store sells basic needs such as produce, chips, meats and snacks. They also stock those often-forgotten items such as toothpaste, deodorant and that all-important sunscreen. A variety of craft beers and wines are also available. If you’re hungry while shopping, the store also serves breakfast and both hot and cold sandwiches. The store is located at 503 Pine Avenue, Anna Maria Island, 34216.

Publix

If you need want a bigger selection, Publix may better fit your needs. Publix is one of the largest grocery chains in the Southeast and has a store on the island. This full-service location has a bakery, meat, seafood and deli department, and a floral section. It also sells beer and wine. The nearest store is located at 3900 E Bay Dr Holmes Beach, FL 34217.

Island Fresh Market

Locally sourced, fresh seafood is the main draw for the Island Fresh Market, but you can get much more there. Located at 5604 Marina Dr, Holmes Beach, FL 34217, Island Fresh stocks basics like milk, eggs, bread and pasta, as well as a variety of snack foods. The market also sells beer and wine. Like some other local markets, the Island Fresh Market also sells hot food, like locally sourced seafood or sandwiches. The store is also proud of its homemade Key Lime Pie.

Time Saver Wine and Spirits

While a number of local outlets sell beer and wine, if your adult beverage needs are a little more specific, Time Saver Wine and Spirits can fill that need. Time Saver is a full-service liquor store, with over 100 different beers and a variety of wines. Aside from the spirits, Time Saver carries fine cigars. This family-owned business is located at 5353 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach, FL 34217.

Instacart

Of course, it’s always possible that you’re having too much fun at your Serendipity vacation home and just don’t have time to go grocery shopping. Or maybe you’re just worn out from a day on the water with our favorite charter service, Captain Major Fishing Charters. Either way, Instacart could be a solution for you. Instacart is available in the Anna Maria Island area and will shop the Publix listed above or other stores. This means you can have virtually any grocery items you want to be brought directly to your door so you don’t have to miss a minute of fun…or your nap.

Farmer’s Markets

In addition to the grocery options above, Anna Maria Island also has smaller Farmer Markets that offer local items. The Farmers Market at City Pier Park is open weekly on Tuesday from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm through May 10, 2022. City Pier Park is located at 103 N Bay Blvd, Anna Maria, FL 34216. The Beach Market at Coquina Beach offers local produce, as well as other food items. They are open Wednesday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Beach Market is located at 2650 Gulf Drive S, Bradenton Beach, FL 34217.
