Farmers Market at City Pier Park

Regular readers may recall hearing about the Farmer’s Market before. Every Tuesday the City of Anna Maria hosts a farmer’s market at City Pier Park. The market gives you the chance to buy some of Southwest Florida’s best produce, as well as locally made baked goods. Small batch local honey, homemade jams and other foods are easy to find at this local event. City Pier Park is located at 103 N Bay Blvd, Anna Maria, FL 34216. The farmer’s market is scheduled to run from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm each Tuesday through the month of May.

Beach Market at Coquina Beach

The Beach Market is open Wednesday and Friday each week through July 2022. This market focuses on local vendors and gives them a place to showcase their arts, crafts, jewelry and collectibles for sale. There are also local produce and foods available. Shoppers can also find clothing and souvenirs to help remember their trip to the island. The market is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and the park is located at 2650 Gulf Drive South in Bradenton Beach. These are some favorite events on Anna Maria Island.

Holmes Beach Art Walk Reception

April 8^th has a special event. The monthly Holmes Beach Art Walk Reception will feature Pat O’Neill. Pat will be available to chat with guests and his art will be exhibited, as will other Island Gallery West members’ work. The event is scheduled from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm and is free of charge. Drinks and snacks will be provided and there will be live music by vocalist Tanya McCormick. The Island West Gallery is located at 5368 Gulf Dr, Holmes Beach, FL 34217.

Palm Sunday Cantata

On April 10, 2022, the Roser Chancel Choir and Chamber Orchestra will present a musical service in observance of Palm Sunday. The service will have music by the 31 voice Chancel Choir and the orchestra. The services will be held at the Anna Maria City Pier at 512 Pine Avenue. There will be 2 performances, one at 8:30 am and a second at 10:00 am. For more information call the Roser Church office at 941-778-0414.

Easter Sunrise Service

The April 17^th sunrise service is a local tradition. This is the 57^th year for the event and attendance is expected to be between 1200 and 2000 people. As this is an outdoor event, attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to sit on and dress for the weather. Trolleys will run from parking to the service site starting at 6:00 am and the service is scheduled to start at 6:30 am. This is a combined event from a number of the churches on the island. Expect to see clergy from 5 local churches combine their talents to conduct the service. The Anna Maria Beach Café will also open at 6:30 am for those who would like coffee.
