Celebrate Easter on Anna Maria Island

Sandbar Easter Egg Hunt

A local tradition is the Easter Egg Hun and Easter Bonnett contest held at the Sandbar Restaurant. This is the 35^th year of the event and if you take part in it, you will see why. The event is on Saturday, April 8, 2023, and is scheduled to run from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Children up to 10 years of age can participate in the Easter Egg Hunt that begins promptly at 9:30 am. The Easter Bonnett Contest starts at 10:00 am. There are prizes for the top 3 adults and youths. The Sandbar Restaurant is located at 100 Spring Avenue, Anna Maria, FL 34216.

After the Easter Egg Hunt, there are activities along nearby Pine Ave, including opportunities for pictures with the Easter Bunny. That’s a perfect way to remember Easter on Anna Maria Island.

Easter Sunrise Service

Being on vacation away from your home church doesn’t mean you have to miss getting to attend a sunrise service. This year marks the 58^th annual Sunrise Service at Manatee Beach. This event, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club, brings together many local churches into a single service that begins at 6:30 am on Easter Sunday. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on to hear the various speakers from around the island and special easter music selections. The Anna Maria Beach Café will open at 6:30 am for those who want to enjoy a little coffee boost. Manatee Beach Park is located at 4000 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach, FL 34217

Just a reminder, the service draws up to 2,000 people. The free Island Trolley service starts at 6:00 am. It may be a great way to avoid traffic. Another pro tip: Dress for the weather. Even though there is often a breeze off the water, it can get warm quickly.

City Life Church Egg Hunt

A short drive off the island to nearby Bradenton will get you to the City Life Church Egg Hunt. This event is known for its size. Organizers say at least 10,000 eggs will be hidden around the grounds. This is a free event and is open to children from 2 years old to 5^th grade. This is scheduled for March 31, 2023, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. City Life Church is located at 1300 17th Ave West Bradenton, FL 34205. Everyone is welcome.
