Breakfast can include avocado toast, poached eggs or pastries and bagels. Lunch is when the healthy eating at North Shore gets fun. The café offers a number of bowls that feature superfoods like acai, spirulina, chia, hemp protein and matcha. Add in ingredients like dragon fruit, Florida honey or homemade granola and it will be a hit. The North Shore Café also features a line of smoothies made with whole fruit without added sugars or syrups.
If upscale dining is part of your plan, The Porch Restaurant may be a good choice for you. The Porch uses the freshest ingredients that it can find to create dishes that are free of additives or preservatives. Their dressings and sauces are made in-house and the menu boasts using only USDA Prime for beef dishes. The menu is free of antibiotics, nitrates and steroids. The Rod and Reel Pier is the oldest entry on this list, having opened in 1947. The two-story, newly renovated restaurant offers views of the Gulf of Mexico while you enjoy your dinner. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. The majority of their fresh seafood menu can be ordered grilled or blackened, both healthier choices than traditional fried seafood. The Rod and Reel Pier is located at 875 N Shore Dr, Anna Maria, FL 34216 and sits at the end of the pier.
